had a little scare
Its been an interesting 24hrs. Yesterday at lunch I had a bad time and it came back up. I spent the rest of the afternoon running to the bathroom. When I got home I tried some water, and that came up. So i decided to not eat or drink anything else. This morning I tried some yogurt (hoping things were back to normal) but no it too came up. I got in touch with Dr Giovanni and she told me to go to the e.r. I went there and after two hours of waiting I finally got in. They hooked me to an iv to get me hydrated and did blood work and took x-rays. Dr Giovanni came in and said it could be some food that is stuck. She ordered and uper gi. If things didn't pass through with this test, then I would be admtted and they would do an endoscopy. Luckily everything went through and nothing came up. Dr Giovanni said that whatever was block probably finally passed. They had me stay in the er for another hour and drink water to make sure there were no more problems. So I'm back home and didn't havve to spend a night in the hospital. I'm suppossed to just do liquids tonight and then soft foods tomorrow. Hopefully everything will get back to normal. I was very happy with the care I received. Dr Giovanni was great as usual, and the docs and nurses in the er were also very helpful and did everything they could to help me. Although I had to spend 8 hours there, at least I got rehyrated and made sure things were ok, plus its always interesting people watching in a hospital. I'm looking at this as just a little bump in the road on my way to a new life. dave
