Okay, I just need to vent.  First, the shakes have been making me a bit sick.  I had the "d" word yesterday.  So of course I hate that and took two Imodium.  Now, I'm blocked up.  I am constantly burping and today my burp nearly turned in a vomit.  I know it's gross, bear with me.  I'm miserable and can't believe I have 9 more days of this.  What is wrong with me?  I don't see anyone else griping on here about this but me.  On the upside, my one meal a day (Healthy CHoice) takes like an expensive gourmet meal about now.  I'm trying to keep myself and my mind as busy as I can.  Physcially I can't do much since being off the advil.  Flexeril is great but makes me sleepy.  Any words of anything for me................thanks a bunch - cranky as hell in Johnston...........Jules

Hi Jules... Sorry you are feeling crappy. I'm not at your stage yet so I have no idea on what you are going through. HUGS On the flip side...stay busy. Do you read? How about knitting or crocheting? If not maybe you can learn or pick up on some other craft. I do all 3 so that's how I'll be keeping busy. Soduko (sp?) is also challenging and fun to keep you busy.  Just a few thoughts...   If you can knit...I have a great suggestion. Let me know!

Hi T.  Happy Thanksgiving!  Thanks for the encouraging words and suggestions.  I do love to read.  I've been keeping busy with projects and the time is going by.  I lost 8 lbs the first week.  I'm not too handy with knitting or crocheting.  Good luck to you as you progress through the stages toward a healthier life!  Jules

Sorry your feeling sick.  Why don't you try different shakes.  I don't have to do the liquid diet but I've been trying the shakes out for post-op and I like the MYOPLEX LITE.  Believe me I don't like many shakes.  I like the chocolate the best.

Hi, it is smart of you to try out the shakes beforehand.  I did try the Atkins Advantage before the liquid diet and liked them.  I've been on the diet for over a week now.  I lost 8 lbs the first week.  I'm feeling better physically and emotionally although last night it was so hard for me not to give into temptation and go get some eggplant parm..........but I didn't.  I came home and stayed on the plan eating 3 oz of meat and veggies.  Happy Thanksgiving!

Sorry you are feeling so crappy.  I wish I could give you some advice but honestly, I have no idea.  If its any consolation, I am cranky as hell in Johnston too......but not from the shakes  (I think Im getting the flu or something)   Well, just hang in there.  It will be over soon.

Hi Marissa, hope you didn't get the flu!  I am doing much better and am in a better state of mind.  I can almost see the end of this stage.  Happy Thanksgiving!

Jules from Johnston, If you think about it 9 more days isn't long at all.  Compare it to how long you have been wanting to get surgery, you are in the home stretch.  Hang in there. Nancy your neighbor in Silver Lake.

Hi Nancy, you are so right.  The time is going by and I have been waiting since March when I first started this whole process.  Today is THanksgiving and my surgery is only 5 days away!  Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi Jules, What shakes are you doing?  The one from the doctors office?  I only lasted one day on those, they were awful.  After that I tried carnation instant breakfast.  Some like those, I really didn't care for them, I ended up doing the Aikens shakes for the rest of the time.  I don't think what kind is as important.  I know the office staff just says thier drinks or carnation instant breakfast, but even after surgery I wasn't keen on those, so I asked Dr Giovanni.  She sugested checking with the nutrisionist, who would have more knowledge of the different shakes.  When I checked with her she said Aikens was ok because it was low carb and high protien.  So I used those post op (after the hospital stay) So you may want to try a few of the different shakes to see if they help.  It may make the next nine days better and help for the few weeks after when you really need to find something you can handle.

.....dave
