Dr.Deiter Pohl / Jeannine Giovanni

I started this journey back in July.  I have completed all my testing and today recieved insurance approval.  I have my last consult Monday at 11:15am.  I am SO EXCITED ! ! !  I had just about given up.  I am truly not a patient person.  I am interested to hear about anyones experience with Dr. Giovanni and Roger Williams Hospital.  I live in MA but Roger Williams is way more convenient than any of the big Boston Hospitals.  Any help would be much appreciated.

My surgery was with Dr Pohl - he and the Roger Williams staff were great.  Before surgery he came down and talked to me and my husband.  After my surgery Dr Pohl called my husband to tell him that everything went well and when he should come to get me.  The Roger Williams staff was friendly and very caring...

Thank you.  Hospitals really freak me out, but friendly staff can make all the difference. I hope to be in and out on the same day.  You have excellent results.  Congratulations on being in Onederland.  

I had Dr Giovanni and she was great.  She came in while I was in the prep room to go over things and check in.  And everyday she would come in to see me and check how I was doing.  I think what impresses me the most about her is that I never feel rushed.  Whether it was in the office or in the hospital I always felt she was spending time with me and I could ask questions, voice concerns, and get the answers to my questions. The hospital staff was also very good.  Pre op was excellent.  They were so helpful.  And the nures in the room where all very nice and helpful.   ....dave

Welcome and Congrats on your follow-up appt.  I have Dr Pohl and I know how you feel about being impatient. I felt like this process was never going to end, but the end (or should I say beginning!) is in just a few days. I had my follow up consult on Oct 25 and my surgery is this Tuesday so I would guess that your surgery will be within just a few weeks!  I've only met Dr Giovanni once, which was at the seminar but she seems very knowledgeable and several people here have had her and loved her. My experience with the staff at Roger Williams has been wonderful so far.  Good Luck, let us know how your consult goes on Monday!

I had Dr. Pohl and absolutely love him.  I can tell you my three favoriate men are my hubby, my dad, and Dr. Pohl His office is great, the staff are good especially his Office Manager (Elaine) and Carol who gets all the insurance approval.   When you have questions or issues they call you right back, and often it is the doctors directly unless they are in surgery. I only met Dr. Giovanni once at the intro seminar, but I hear very good things about her.  Have you come to a support group meeting yet?  There will most likely be patients of hers at the meeting that can give you feedback. Hello, I had Dr Polh do my surgery and everything went very well. His office staff is very good,  From preop testing to the day I was discharged from RWMC the nursing staff and Outpatient surgical staff was very good. As an RN I tend to be a stickler for proper precedure and I can tell you that my care was top notch. When I was out of  surgery Dr Polh called my family to give them a progress report, The nursing staff on the 2 floor was great.   Good luck Marc 

I had my follow up appointment yesterday.  I have my date OMG it's December 12.  I have so much to do to get ready.  YIPEEEEE   I couldn't ask for a better Christmas present.   Start weight 236 11/12/07
