Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone in RI has had or knows of anyone who has had the  Duodenal switch(PBD) as a WLS. Especially with Dr. Roye. If so I would like to hear the good/bad about this procedure and life after it. Also has anyone had the test Esophageal Motility(they put a tube through your nose into your stomach- you are awake, no sedation just a numbing spray in your throat).  That is a test I have to have and I heard it is very unfortable beside the fact I am a horrible gagger. Just how bad is it-truth only. If this test does not come out ok with how fast I swallow the only option I have is the PBD surgery which is so drastic I don't know if I could do it.  So PLEASE, ANYONE please help with these two questions if you can.  I have been researching daily about this WLS but would really like so input from someone in my OH family. Thanks.

Have you gone on the DS Board?  I have heard a lot of good things about it.  From what I hear you can eat a lot more stuff w/ fewer side affects.  What surgery do you want to have?  I did not have to have the EM test.  My EDG was all they needed. Jen
