1) Did everyone spend an overnight in the hospital following surgery? 2) How much time did you take off from work after surgery? Was it enough time or do you feel you needed less or more?  Thanks

I stayed the night at Roger Williams (great care!!) I was discharged at 8:30 the following morning.

I Took a week out of work. I thought it was a good amount of time.

No Problem

1) Did everyone spend an overnight in the hospital following surgery? I did not spend an overnight.  My surgery was at Roger Williams I went into surgery around 9:00 AM and was home by 4:00 PM.

I work in IT and often have to climb under desks and up on ladders to run cables.  I took 3 weeks off, but with a modified work load I could have gone back to work earlier.

Hi there, Yes, I spent a night at RI Hospital.  I took 2 weeks out of work but could have gone back after one week.  Good luck!

Revision on 05/20/15 with

I spent the night of surgery and was discharged around noon the next day.  Had a minor complication and was back in the ER that night sent home at 1AM back in the ER at 7AM and admitted by Dr. Pohl for another night.   He kept me out for two weeks.

My complication was not necessarily band related.  I have issues with anesthesia and had so much air inside that I couldn't drink anything and was dry heaving really bad.  Ended up with sever dehydration and unable to goto the bathroom.  They corrected this and I was fine and on my way.  This has happened to me after several other non-bariatric surgeries too.
