26 Vials of blood!
Holy mackeral! In all of my reading on this website, nobody ever mentioned that the blood tests required 26 vials of blood. I had to laugh when she went trick or treating through the vial bin to pull all of the necessary ones. It wasn't a big deal, it was just the shear number. Now, my arms hurt. One more appointment...I was booked for my follow up sleep study today..or at least I thought it was today. I went to the office in Middletown where my other appointment was and found out that I was supposed to be in West Warwick. Why the hell would my appointment be there. I live in Portsmouth and had my other appointment there. The only card I have gives the address in Middletwon. The secretary asked where I was and I asked her where she was? West Warwick? HUMPH! I was all ready to call Dr. Roye's office and schedule my appointment to schedule surgery. Oh well....what's one more day!
That is so funny because they told me that they had just done this last week and I thought it might have been you. The girl that drew the blood is in my physiology class and I showed her my arms tonight. Yikes! She got 23 vials out of one arm and then the vein shut down and she had to go in my other arm and she really dug around in that one. One of these nights when you all go out, I would love to join you. I have class Monday- Wednesday which stinks.
Weekends seem to work best for most. You should join us next time. It will be a lot of fun. I had an "In training" Phlebotomist-SP. The first arm was ok, but them my fingers got all tingly and she switched to the other. That is where the problems started. She had to fish around and I dont know why-I have the HUGEST veins ever! I could have drawn blood myself. It was still not as bad as the ABG's. Did you have that one? That was the worst. That needle in the wrist-OUCH!!!!!!
Take Care,
Jen
