Hi! I'm new- couple questions!
Hi everyone, I'm new around here-- though I'll admit to reading the forums for awhile to work up the courage to go see Dr. Pohl. Everything is set in motion.. I'm doing all the pre-op testing.
My insurance doesn't cover the suggested psych consult from Dr. Pohl's office..AND they aren't booking until Jan/Feb. :o( All my other tests will be done in the next two weeks. What psych consult did you use?
Also.. just a question about booking surgery. After I get all these tests done.. how long does it usually take to get a date?.. I have Blue Cross..and they said if I have sleep apnea, which I do, that I will get covered without any difficulty. I'm really hoping for January.. I'm a grad student and I have the month off. Is that realistic? It's really hard to plan out a school schedule when I don't know what's going on...
Thanks so much!
Hi and welcome! I also have BCBS and ran into the same problem with the psych. Which BCBS plan is it? I'm HMO Blue New England and used Dr Freess in Fall River.
When I found that Dr Pohls recommended surgeon didnt take my insurance I called BCBS and explained the situation, they gave me Dr Freess name and I gave him a call not knowing what to expect. He was great!! Let me know if you need his information and I'll be happy to pass it along and answer any questions about him and his procedure if your plan will cover him.
As for the timeline, I started the process in June through my PCP and had all my tests but 1 done before seeing Dr Pohl. I just got my date today and its Nov 13.
