please help !!!!

Hi , i have not been on in a long time but i went to see DR. Geovanni  and i was actuually set on getting the band but she thinks i should get the bypass but wants me to lose 25 lbs first and get some test done i do not know much about the bypass and was wondering if any one knows where i can get some info on it or if there is any support groups at roger williams or some where close by. thank you for taking the time to read this hope to hear from you soon

Hi patti,  The RNY board here is a great source of information. Also the information packet from Dr Giovanni and Dr Pohls seminar tells all about the bypass. I'll be having bypass surgery with Dr Pohl very soon and not sure what I can tell you, but you're welcome to ask me any questions and I can try..lol.  The support group for Roger Williams meets the 4th Thur of the month in the Kay Auditorium from 6-7:30. The next meeting is next next Thursday , Oct 25. You'll get to meet many great people, some banded, some bypass, and some on the journey just like you and I. Its a great source of information and very open discussion. Hope to see you there!

Hi Patti, Did you go to the seminar that Pohl/Giovanni have to explain the procedures? That's where I got most of my info from, plus consulting with the doctors themselves, and also from this site. If you never went for some reason or it's been a long time, the next one is 11/8 at 6pm at RWMC. Good luck!
