It finally happened

For the first time since surgery I threw up my food today. I was at King Richard's Faire, and for lunch decided to try the turkey legs.  I thought that would probably be the best protien wise, as the other things the had were stews with a lot of cream sauce, or pizza and other more fast food items.

I think what happened was the meat was too tough.  I felt really bad after eating and about 15 minutes later it came back up.  The good thing is after that I felt better. I guess it just part of the whole process and a leaning experience on what to look at for and what my new pouch dosen't like.

Hey Dave, I have the lap band and believe me, even after a year, mine gives me trouble some days.   My pouch is very picky some days and others it is fine....it is hard going out sometimes after surgery and trying to eat semi normal...I know that we bandsters have to have moist meat and I am sure it is the same for RNYers too. You are doing great so far....very impressed... ps...I used to work with you...I worked in Greenville though...remember the Disney Cruise???   Kristen

Hi Kristen, Yes I do remember the Disney Cruise!

I guess it is a small state.  Glad to hear you are doing well.  Feel free to private message me if you want to catch up. .....dave

UGH! I think you did make the best choice, but as my doctor says...as long as it doesn't happen all the time.  Sometimes these things just happen.  It is possible that the turkey leg was just to greasy for you.  You have been eating a lot better and the grease may have just disagreed with you.

Sorry to hear it Dave, but everday is gonna be a learning process.  I think you made the right decision by eating the turkey.

We are all still learning.

Sorry to hear that Dave. This is the one thing I dread after my surgery (if I ever get approved), is facing the best choice and still not being the right one. Hope it didn't take long to recover from this.
