Update on insurance situation.....

Well, I did receive a call from Dr Pohls office today. Elaine called to tell me that they were missing the stress test results and my insurance authorization. Fortunately, I've been getting the results sent to me as well and was able to fax over the stress test immediately.

The insurance though was another matter. Elaine told me that they didnt have anything back yet and then said they had sent it over. When i told her AGAIN that the insurance company was saying there was nothing there she pulled my chart again and said it showed it was faxed on Oct 1. so she would refax it  right then and I hopefully since its going through BCBS RI I might  have an answer by Tuesday. Unfortunately that meant that Dr Pohl couldnt sign off on my chart today and so I couldnt make a follow up appt and now its just waiting for insurance. You know, I couldnt help but sit there and think to myself how if they would have taken time to look at my info over the past 2 weeks since I've been calling and just confirm to me that it had in fact been sent in that I would possibly have my date right now.  I'll definately be calling the insurance company tomorrow to confirm they have it in hand. Lets just hope they dont come back with a denial! Wish me Luck!

I called BCBS today to check on the authorization and its there now, they  said I should have an answer by Mon-Tues. I will definately be relieved once this part of the process if complete.

I don't believe you will have to go through what I have been. Be thankful you don't have UHC. Its not a very good process on their behalf nor a happy process on mine. BCBS have been pretty good to the people in this endeavor. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. I'm sure you will have an answer before next Wednesday.  

Keeping my fingers crossed for you Angels. Hopefully the wait will be over! I too have BC/BS and I guess I shall see. I'm waiting for my approval still, it'll be 2 weeks this Wednesday (providing it was submitted that day).    Take care,  T

Have you called to check the status.  I dont think it usually takes that long.  You might want to make sure they have all the paperwork they need.  For me, I had to do a lot of leg work because the insurance co. did not get everything they needed.  It was just easier for me to get it than go through the Dr. 's office.  Good Luck,

Dawn, Angela, Jen- I have no idea the situations you guys are in, but I can identify a bit with the stress of the waiting and wondering, though not at your level.  I can't imagine what it must be like to be soo close you can tase it (hopefully it is very tasty and calorie free- lol) yet not being able to get to that final step.  With every ounce of me (and god- there is PLENTY of ounces) I hope and pray that you get you wishes and are all approved.  Even being at just the point of waiting for the initial consult- I get butterflies.  If you ever need to scream, vent, cry, celebrate (my personal favorite-esp if margaritas are involved-lol) I will be there for you.  I can't express enough how I want to see everyone on here suceed and thrive- because- I will be holding you all up to be my role models!  (ok- enough of my mushy side- you might think I was human or something- back to being me)
