Silly question from a newbie
Same Dr., Sept. 26.
Yes. I've had a few pieces of really moist chicken, & some veggies. I chewed really well. If I forgot, I paid. I've had a few bites of a bagel w.cream cheese. Tonight, I had a veggie-sausage stew.
I figured what was the difference between chewing moist food really well & pureeing? Some mac & cheese, a few raspberries. Oh, & some fish. I use a baby spoon. Again I chewed really well & waited awhile between bites to see how it felt. Better than anything with milk which turned out to be a real no-no.
Wendy's chili is a welcome relief, too.

Hi Tracy and Welcome!!!
It is very important that you follow your doctors instructions to ensure proper healing and lower risk of complications. I know that the liquid phase can be mind numbing but it is necessary. Hang in there and if you feel like you need to move to the next stage, call your doctor before doing it on you own.
My thoughts ( as I share with anyone I know getting ready for this surgery) treat your pouch as you would treat a brand new babies stomach. You wouldn't give a 2 week old baby a steak or chicken or anything too salty or sweet ( you get the picture). Our pouches adapt alot quicker than a babies growth but nonetheless take it slow and follow the doctors advice. They know you get bored, they know it is tough, but there are alot tougher things, and next year you will be giving similar advice to another newbie.
Good Luck, and take your time.
