New and Getting started!

Hi everyone!

I'm in the very early stages. I'm currently waiting for an approval from my insurance. I'm hoping to have the Lap Band surgery. I've had my first appointment with my surgeon and also sleep apnea.  If you'd like to know alittle more about me...feel free to check out my profile.  Any advice, suggestions or just general info would be greatly appreciated. I just finished all my pre-op testings.  What insurance do you have?  Mine took about 2 weeks for approval I have BC/BS.  As soon as you get your approval schedule your Nutrionist and Psych.  It takes a while to get in with them.   I had all my testings done a RIH I figured it would be easier to retrieve. 

I also have BC/BS.  I was told once I get the approval, I'll get a list of all the tests I'll need to complete. At that point, I'll start scheduling in hopes to get them done as soon as possible.

welcome to the group- I am very early in the process- the only approval I have so far is a referral from my PCP to go see the surgeon and nurse practicioner, and that apt isn't till late Nov

I'm not that far behind you. I had a 2 month wait to get in to see the surgeon as well. The only reason I have my sleep apnea appointment in line is because my PCP was the one who ordered it for me.

Hello and welcome!    I'm still waiting for an approval after being denied by UHC. Been a very long journey for me, but I know, in the long run, it will be all worth every bit of it! Wishing you the best of luck in yours!
