Ok - now I'm really frustrated!!!

Hi all, Perhaps someone will have some advice for me.  I had my band placed on 5/3/07.  To date I've lost 36 pounds....and only have had one fill.  Now I know from reading other posts on the main board that more fills during the past 5 months could have definitnely been done.  I feel that Dr. Roye is super conservative - and that's ok....but I'm so frustrated with his office.  I was scheduled for my second fill last week - but somehow messed up the date and missed my appt.  I called to reschedule and of course got attitude from his secretary.  I apologized profusely - it was an honest mistake.  Now I have to wait another 2.5 weeks....and to top it off they don't have 7:30am appointments for fills under fleuro anymore - it's now 2:30 and I can't eat or drink anything after midnight....YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!! I've been starving for 2 freakin months over here and didn't lose any weight last month.  Now I have to wait even longer for my fill.   ARGHHHHH

I don't have any advice, just (((hugs))) for all your frustrations! That really sucks!

HI  THE WAIT FOR A 2:30 appointment WAS HARD FOR ME TO BUT I MANAGED TO KEEP BUSY AND IT WAS  WORTH THE WAIT. I DROPED 2POUNDS BY THE NEXT DAY . AND YES I AGREE DR. ROYE IS CONSERVATIVE WITH FILL BUT I AM HAPPY WITH THAT BECAUSE I AM 1 YEAR OUT AND I HAVE LOST 70 POUNDS WITH OUT BEING A REAL GOOD BAND GIRL AND ITS BEEN VERY SLOW BUT SURE LOOSING BE PATIENT

I had my second fill at a 2:30pm appointment. To be honest...I drank water until about 12 noon. Things went well during the fill; the water went right through anyway. Tell him how you are struggling, and that you are doing all the work. That's what I did, and it worked. I got another .5 cc, it made a world of difference.  You've gotten this far, you'll make it!!! I feel every emotion that you feel.  Dr. Roye is very conservative but i have alot of faith in why he does what he does. Keep telling myself that he is the expert. He set me straight at my last appt and believed every word.   Had my surgery 4/10 and down 45 lbs.  but the past couple of months it has been extremely slow. Crossing my fingers that I will get my 3rd fill on the 19th and crossing my toes that he can do it in the office this time instead of waiting for fluero, he said he may try. Nancy

Hi Nancy, Thanks for your response.  I do understand why he takes things slow.....but it is very frustrating.  What do you mean that he set you straight at your last appt? Kathy

Kathy, He gave me a speech about what the band is about and what my role is in making it work.  He boosted my confidence about my progress to date. He really got me to listen and believe him. Nancy

Hi Kathy!!!!!!!!!  getting fills out of Dr. Roye is like pulling friggin teeth!!!  Im sorry your struggling, your doing great though, dont get discouraged..you'll get there girlfriend!!!

Wow, I am glad I am going the RNY route.  As impatient as I am now, I would FREAK if I could not get my fills. Jen
