It you check my website I wrote about the hospital stay.    www.ri12.blogpsot.com   What got me up & about was taking off the catheter.  Hello, bathroom every hour or two. I had a little diarrhea but it's gone now.  There's been a  fair amount of leakage from one hole.  I tried covering it with a bandage.  What works best, though, is just wearing one of my husbands t-shirts under whatever I'm wearing.  I take showers & I think that it's all stopped now. So about eating/drinking.  It's physically impossible, I think, to get in all the fluid AND protein in the tiny stomach.  But I'm trying.  Instead of the blender type pureeing, I'm been baby spoon smushing & it works fine. I have a protein drink or pudding twice/day. The good cravings are almost gone.  I can eat a tiny bit & stop.  Wow.  Anyone who says that weight loss is about self-control & good habits, blah-blah doesn't know what they are talking about.  Something has been fixed that was broken. I keep asking my teen if I'm thin yet & he says, no.  But I do believe that my face isn't as puffy. I have a lot of brusing & my midsection is somewhat stiff, but I'm up & about as usual.  I force myself to remember not to lift/move anything more than 5 lbs. - like trash & laundry.  I'm also getting in naps to force myself to take it easy. I take very little painkiller & giving yourself the shot is easy, but it took me a few hours to work myself up to doing it. I have a calcium vitamin from GNC that is like a chewy caramel.  I can't find my vitamins yet so I have to buy more. No indigestion - I've had it for 40 yrs! I should have done this sooner.  This was a lot easier than having kids, or fracturing an elbow.  Thanks for all the encouragement.  I'm one happy camper!

Hey Jen, Sorry to say, but yep, almost everybody does shots to prevent blood clots. Some do them longer than others. I couldn't give myself the shot either (and I give my mom insulin twice a day). I made the hubby do it. Gotta say though, I'd take them three times a day to end up with the 140lb weight loss I've had! I nearly cried last night, the jeans I wore to the monthly meeting were.......drum rollllll.....a SIZE EIGHT!! I used to squeeze into a 26/28. Heck, I'd take the shots anywhere for that! Pam

Wow, awesome progress....  YEAH to you... I knew about the shots in the hospital, did not know you came home with them.  Looks like my DH will be learning to give them to me.  I really dont think I can. Thanks, Jen

Jen- that was my thought exactly- but I was keeping my mouth shut this time- thank god you said it though.  all i can think of was when imitrex only came in an injection form- even when I had a terrible migraine i had to have someone else give me the shot- i was too much a wimp- and you never even saw a needle- just looked like a mondo pen
