I *so* agree....I often come, to find no new posts!!!! Anyway.... I am Trish, I live in Lincoln, 34 yrs old, and I am a Registered Nurse...I am married with 2 kids, 15 and 6 I had a lap RNY on Aug 30....wow 2 weeks allready???? I started at 249lbs, 5'1, small frame.... I dont even know how much I have lost yet, I dont own a scale.....but I am not going to be obsessed about it for a while....now its time for my body to heal.....and the weight will come off....thats my mantra lately!!!! Thanks to Dr Roye, I had a textbook surgery, and thus far a textbook recovery. No nausea, pain was minimal, but controlled by the meds, and I have no trouble getting down what I am supposed to be, in terms of protein, water, purees..... The only issue I have to "complain" about is this: I am really tired...like if I let myself, could sleep all day tired.....I am hoping as I increase my protein, and my high quality vitamins come in, this will lessen . Plus, I am sure most of it is just from the surgery......5 little incisions, but with major work done inside.... sometimes we forget........ As far as goals? As I mentioned, my frame is small, and I am short...so I would love to get down to 120lbs. However, I was at one point 290lbs, lost 150lbs, and at 140 I felt great.....but it still is considered overweight, BMI-wise......I just want to be normal....... I absolutely will need plastics for my abdomen, breasts and arms.....its not even a question......but I am going to start a formal exercise program as soon as I get the go ahead from Dr Roye.....maybe even one of those mean personal trainers, to get me into shape!!!! lol   Right now, walking around the block is a major improvement  from what I used to do before, which was, nothing...  EXCEPT eat!!! I have rambled enough.....ciao!!! Trish

Hi Trish, My name is Cathy and I had my surgery 4 1/2 years ago. My life has changed in many ways including a new career as one of those "mean" personal trainers. When you are ready to get into a regular exercise routine, drop me an email-maybe I can help. Congrats on your surgery and a continued rapid recover.  Cathy

Hello, I'm Eileen & have my pre-op class tomorrow & surgery on the 26th.  I have absolutely LOVED reading all the postings.  So many congrats are in order, but I've forgotten all the names. I dabble in politics & have a blog - www.ri12.blogspot.com. I'm a retired education & LOVE being retired.  I live with my husband & two sons.  The youngest just started URI. Our cat & dog allows us to share the residence. I have ?100 lbs. to lose.  My sis had the operation 3 yrs. ago & did great.  She was my guinea pig. Most of my life I was ordinary, even skinny sometimes.  Then two kids & menopause stepped in.  Losing those few extra pounds easily became part of the past! I live in Middletown right near the beach & Newport.  Had a great walk there today.  I am one lucky dog. I enjoyed meeting some of you at the Gerry House mtg., but as my allergies still had the better of me, towards the end I was pretty sleepy & somewhat zoned out. Islander

Hi All, My name is Pam.  I'm 43 years old and live i n Middletown with my husband of 14 years and my son who is 12 and my daughter who is 8.    I work for Newport Hospital as a financial counselor.  I had my psych eval today which was actually my last scheduled appointment before setting surgery date.  I'm hoping we can schedule for mid to late November.    Thanks to Jen for letting me know about this message board... I had been visiting  https://usasurg.remedymd.com/index.php  which is the site that Dr, Roye's office gave me when I first called for appointment.  The folks there are very supportive, but it's nice to meet some local peeps with local experiences :) looking forward to reading who's who :)  thanks for the idea of introductions  Pam
