OK, this board needs some waking up!! Everyone *****ads this PLEASE respond with at least a "hi" and maybe some vital stats. Let's get to know each other! HELLO! I'm Krista and I live in Providence. I'm 31 years old, I have been married for almost 6 years and have two great kids who are 4 and 2. I'm a Speech-Language Pathologist (speech therapist) and I work about 20 hours a week right now so I can be home with the kids the rest of the time.  I had gastric bypass on 2/9/07 and am less than 20 pounds from goal. Woo hoo! I am losing much more slowly now, but I would love to hit my goal by Christmas. So who are you?

Hi Krista-               im Shannon and I live in Coventry. i'm 28 yrs old and have been married for a little over 2 yrs. No kids yet but trying to work on our own at this time. My husband and I are licensed foster care parents and by this time next week we should have a 7 yr old girl in the home! very excited! I am a CNA in a local hospital at this time and also have my medical assistant license. My husband and I own our own DJ and Photography business and we love it!            I had gastric bypass surgery 9/27/06 and about 40 pounds from goal weight. I have lost 115 pounds so far and I think this is it for the surgery because I have been on a 4 month plateau. I have 10 pounds to go to hit onederland. i am also losing very slowly now and have to watch my portion sizes more carefully. hope everyone has a good day!                                           Shannon

I agree, this has been a very sleepy place lately.  I cant chat for long, I have to get to the bus stop to get the girls.  Just wanted to say, "HI".  I will post more later.

Hi, I'm Dave, 40yrs old and work as an accounting associate.  I live in Providence, and at present am single. 

I had gastric bypass on Aug 28 and still recovering from surgery.  It's been tough, very sore and tired but I'm getting through it.  So far I've lost 43 pounds both pre and post op.  I am no longer on any diabetic, high blood pressue, or high cholesteral meds.  Looking foward to a new life with a healthy, thin me!!!!!

BTW ....I have a new niece who was born today at 2am.  Her name is Ellie and I'll be leaving shortly to visit her.

hi there, i'm caroline. i will be having lap band surgery next monday 9-17-07. dr. ryder is doing the surgery. highest weight was 325, i was 290 when i started this process and when i had my appointment on 9-5-07 to get my surgery date, i was 256. i'm a little anxious about the surgery, but mostly excited to have the help of the band to keep up the loss. i have hbp, diabetes, sleep apnea, arthritis in my knees and a few other medical problems. hopefully i will be off of meds soon after the surgery. i really enjoy this board and the united surgical site also. hopefully i will be back on by tuesday or wednesday of next week.

Good luck with your surgery, Caroline! I'm sure you'll do great - you've already lost a lot on your own!
