Well, I met with the Nut. today, (No she is not a NUT, HAHAHAHA).  I only have the EDG test on Tuesday and they can send for approval.  I am freaking out about that darn test.  I recently had a Colonoscopy with IV Sedation.  I have had IV sedation in the past that worked awesome, but for some reason it did not work that well the day of the colonoscopy.  I woke up screaming 3 times.  It was worse than labor.  I am afraid it will happen with the EDG test.  He assured me that it would not, but you never know.  Someone, please tell me it is all in my head and I will not feel anything or wake up during it.  I am not scared of the RNY but I am scared of the EDG.  Something is off with me.  Strange!!!!!!! Thanks a bunch, Jen

Dear Jen, I can well understand your concern. It's good that you told your Dr. about the problem.  Now that they are prepared for it, I'm sure that you will have no problem.  Worse than labor??? Oh, my. Oh, just tell yourself you'll sue the pants off them & make a ton of money. Not much you can do about it, really.  Perhaps there was a problem with the dosage they had given you or a bad dose that they had purchased.  They'll be more watchful this time, I'd say. Is IV sedation the usual way they do it?  I've had it done & remember the Doc telling me that I could watch the tv screen, but it was too difficult for me to manuveur that way.  The next thing that I remember is some nurse talking to me & being in a different place.  What a surprise!  They had found a polyp but put me under so fast that I didn't even know. They wanted me to phone my husband to come & pick me up. I'm sure that it will be fine after now having had both ends examined! Islander

Hey Isalnder, I have been told that the Navy Doc's are a bit stingy with the Narcotics and they probably went light on them,  That is why I kept feeling it and having pain.  However, I discussed it with him and he said they would do what they could to make me comfortable.  He said it only takes 5 minutes and I will be pretty much out of it for the whole thing. I had NO desire to watch the Colonoscoy, I asked them to make me REALLY sleepy.  The less I know, the better. Thanks, Jen

Oh Jen, Of course you are afraid...and while there might be something off with you...I have yet to discover it..lol  Since you explained what happened I am sure they will take that into consideration.   Good luck everything will be fine..

Thanks Danielle, The sooner this is over, the better!!!!!!!  Good luck with your Turkey Day challenge.  I hope I have had my RNY by then.  I do not want to be tempted over the holidays.....I know I will always be tempted, but I would LOVE some help getting through them. Take Care, Jen

Dear Jen,

I'm still laughing through my tears.  Stingy with procedure narcotics???  Don't you wish that you could sit in on a procedure for them & tell them just to, buck up, it doesn't hurt that bad. Won't happen this time, I'm quite sure of it.   Too early to worry about T-giving yet.  Testing & surgery first.  THEN we'll all plan together. Islander
