I have had a nagging question since day one on here. I have seen patients from each one of these Dr's and I'm curious to know why this is... Dr. Pohl and Dr. Giovanni have all their patients go through the list with all the tests before they submitt to insurance... Dr. Roye and Dr. Ryder will not allow you to go to any of the tests until they have submitted and comes back as approved from insurance. WHY IS THIS??? It's just nagging the crapola out of me!!!  I JUST DON'T GET IT!!!!

Hi there, I see Dr. Roye and my Insurance required 3 major tests before they would even look at me for approval.  I think it is just whatever the insurance requires is what he makes you do.  He told me at my first visit that he does not send for testing prior to approval because if you are denied, then they might not cover the cost of the testing.  If it is not required for approval, he does not want you to be out any money. How did you make out at the sleep study?  I am on the wait list and they tried to call me last night but I was not home.  I called today and they told me I might get in tomorrow.  Did you have Apnea?  My husband was just on his way to Iraq and was sent home today because they did  not notice in his overseas screening that he has Apnea.  I quess the Military cant go to Iraq w/ it.  Thank God!  I was looking at 1 yearb all alone. Have you heard anything about your appeal. Good Luck! Jen

Jen, thank god for small favors! So happy he was sent home! Somebody is watching over him!! That actually makes sense... so my pcp can send me and Insurance will pay but not surgeon... go figure. LOL I found my sleep study was fun until, I woke with my arm in severe pain. I couldn't lift it for four days. This is only because I have issues with it from the computer, building my website. I went for my Stress Test yesterday. They are just requiring me to do an ultrasound of my heart, because I have a murmur. My EKG was awesome. Towards the end of this appt. I called the sleep center to hear results. YES, I have Apnea, but to what extent I do not know... it was a choppy call and didn't catch it all. I did catch though that I have to go back again and not sure why. I didn't need the mask the first night...   So I am still scheduled for 9/11. My appeal will be left up too my Advocate. I received my denial last Friday and it was faxed over on Tuesday to them. It will take a week or so to pull all the info into place and they will give me an update. The insurance stated that they didn't receive data from pcp saying I've been MO for over 5 yrs. Go figure, because they did receive it. Oh well. So glad things are going smoothly for you!! GL!
