Question for Dr Giovanni/Phol patients

Hi I have a question.  Monday is my 2nd appointment with Dr Giovanni.  For those who had had surgery with her and Dr Phol, at this appointment do they give you the surgery date? thanks dave

Hi David, I am a patient of Dr Giovanni's as well but I'm not sure of the process.  I have had all my work ups done and been approved.  I saw Dr Giovanni about two weeks before the approval.  I guess that's when they sent it in.  Anyway, am I supposed to be making an appointment with her again or waiting to get cleared from Dr Messier's group first?  Thanks, Jules

Hi Jules, They won't make the appointment until everything is in.  So you would need to wait until Dr Messier writes your letter. One thing you may want to do is call and see if all your test results have been sent to them.  I called a few weeks ago to check on things and there were missing reports that were not sent to them.  I then have spent the last few weeks calling to get them sent over and making sure they were received.  It was a little agravating because some of the tests were done back in May and should have been sent already.  I guess we have to keep on top of things ourselves. Hope you get your letter soon and will be on your way.  I'm hoping they set my date on Monday when I see Dr Giovanni. take care. Dave

Hi Dave,  The day of my second appointment with Dr Giovanni, I was given my surgery date.  That appointment was 7/16/07 and surgery is scheduled for 8/14/07.  My 2 week liquid diet starts on 8/1/07.   Pre-op testing on 7/31/07.  Hope that helps.

Good luck with your surgery, you must be excited to finally be there and have the date.  Do you know that the Pre-op testing involves?

Hi,  The pre-op testing was easy. Just some blood, urine, EKG, and a chest X-ray, it was quick and easy.  Now comes the liquid diet sure to be not so easy.

Hi Emilie, I'm also scheduled with Dr. Giovanni on 8/14 at 12:30 but I was told to start my liquid diet on 7/31.  What time are you scheduled for?  I'm sure I'll see you on the floor post-op Landa

Landa, My surgery is scheduled for 9:30 am.  Isn't this diet fun. I am starving.  see ya on the 14th.

Hi Dave, Did you get your insurance approval?  If not, then they will wait until that goes through.  If you have and they dont' bring it up.  Please ask them.  Otherwise this second appointment was mostly a..okay you did all of your tests...do you still want the surgery...do you have any questions...lets get your weight.... Yes I called the insurance co myself and it was approved.  So hopefully I'll have my date on Monday. thanks dave
