Sleep Study

My sleep study thing is coming up quite quickly. July 27th is the day I see the NP for it... how long after the initial appt does it take for the overnight study?

Hey Dawn,  For me the overnight was scheduled about 3 weeks after  the first visit with the sleep study doctor.  My appt with Dr. Roye was 4 weeks after that and Dr.Roye still didn't have the report.  He scheduled my surgery anyway but I had to call to get the sleep report to him.  Nancy

   You can book the study by calling this number; 615-5878. They can either book you in Providence or Warwick, which is probably your best option.

Hi Dawn, Did you get your approval packet yet?  If not how did you get an appointment for a sleep study without a physician's order?  I have my Consult with Dr. Roye's NP today and would like to get the sleep study scheduled since its the longest of all appointments.  Where did you schedule your sleep study?

No Fogo, I do not have the approval pack yet. I asked the NP at Dr. Royes office if I could do that and I sought permission to do so. I advise you to do the same. With permission, you call and tell them you're seeing (or have already) a bariatric surgeon on such and such date and schedule now, if approval does not come through by the date they give you, you have to call to reschedule the appt. Hope this helps

Dawn,  I don't know why it took so long.  They gave me a couple of choices of where to have it done and then they booked the overnight and follow ups. They never told me which one was quicker, I picked Miriam Hospital.  What is an approval packet?  Is it the list of test appointments that need to be made prior to surgery?  If so, I got mine less than a week after my first appoint with Dr. Roye.  I got approved fairly quick.
