Spoke to Insurance Company
I will be calling my insurance again today. Talked to four different people yesterday. First person and Third person states, it shouldn't be a problem getting it moved quickly, so I could have an answer by days end.The second and fourth had no clue what the other two were talking about and I couldn't do anything about it.
No, no testing yet, but I have a test pre-scheduled for my Sleep study already. They gave me the go ahead.
I can have them done quickly, no problem at all.
THE WEEK BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT WITH DR. ROYE I CALLED BLUE CROSDS THEY LOOKED UP MY PLAN AND ASKED ME A FEW QUESTIONS AND I ANSWERED THEM AND THE WOMEN SAID BACED ON THE CONVERSATION WE JUST HAD I SEE NO PROBLEM. NO ONE FROM DR. ROYES OFFICECALLED ME TO SAY IT WAS APPROVED BUT THE DAY I WENT TO SEE HIM HE SET UP THE TESTS. AND I SAW HIM 2 WEEKS AFTER AND THAT DAY I GOT MY SURGERY DATE. SO BE PATIENT. WHEN U SEE HIM YOU WILL FIND OUT IF YOUR GETTING THE LAP BAND THEY FIT U IN REAL QUICKLY .HE EVEN SAID THAT FOR THE TIME THEY NEED ITS QUICKER TO BOOKO.R. TIME SO IT WILL WORK OUT TALK TO HIM ON YOUR NEXT VISIT. HE TELLS THE OFFICE GIRLS WHAT HE WANTS AND THEN IT DOES HAPPEN .. SO DONT WORRY ELAINE
Dear Dawn,
You poor thing. You're driving yourself crazy, aren't you? Before I started the process I called my insurance co. & asked them for baratric surgery qualifications. I found out that I was approved when I got a packet of appointments from the Dr. 2 wks. later, I think. I had been prepared for a much longer wait.
Remember, the sleep studies can take a LONG time, but perhaps you'll be luckier than me.
Good luck! Be patient!
You won't see the surgeon again until ALL testing is finished, then you call. You'll get the directions.
I do know the feeling, believe me. I've been working on this since the end of Jan. The impatience just drove me crazy, so I'm definitely trying the laid back approach & am much happier.
Also going to the beach today helped! It's cold, but absolutely clear.
DAWN, THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO POINT IN TRYING TO TALK TO DR. ROYE'S SECRETARY, SHE IS NOT A VERY NICE PERSON. NOT SURE IF ITS BECAUSE SHE IS PROBABLY BOMBARDED WITH PHONE CALLS ON A DAILY BASIS OR IF SHE IS JUST MISERABLE BUT SHE'S NOT AN EASY PERSON TO DEAL WITH, IF YOU ASK ME, I THINK SHE NEEDS TO GO BACK TO "GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE" SCHOOL... ANYWHO....I WAS APPROVED WITHIN 2 WEEKS, IVE NEVER HEARD OF ANYONE HAVING TO WAIT 30 DAYS FOR APPROVAL AND I KNOW A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE GONE THROUGH THE PROCESS. GOOD LUCK!!
I can fully understand if the secretary is bombarded with work. BUT, in this line of profession, you must keep in good spirits, no matter what issues she has. Be nice and explain to the patient that work is overwhelming and she would like to help when she can. Unfortunitely, she chooses the discriminatory way... well thats how it's perceived anyway. I truely believe if she can't handle patients with a decent bed side manner... then she shouldn't be in this office. Maybe go somewhere where patients are few to none. Just my opinion. I'm not like most people to allow someone to keep talking to me that way... I'm a human being and will be treated with respect. I pretty much demand it.
