Already Broken
I am going to be calling the surgeon's office tomorrow morning. When I lay down my port rises to the top. I have no clue what I did to make it come undone. I have never really felt sore at my port site either. I just figured I was lucky. Well hrmm... not so much anymore when I can feel my port side ways and I see it when I lay down. A nice little bump next to my port site. Yeah me... lol...
Has this happened to anyone else? I am kind of bummed since today was my first day back from work and I just made it to my second week post op.
I am waiting until tomorrow to call. My mom things I should call tonight. Plus I got to see him on Monday.

"Because we do not know when we will die we get to think of life as an inexhaustible well and yet everything happens only a certain number of times and a very small number really. How many more times will you remember a certain afternoon of your childhood, an afternoon that is so deeply a part of your life that you can't even conceive of your life without it. Perhaps four or five times more? Perhaps not even that. How many times will you watch the full moon rise, perhaps twenty, and yet it all seems so limitless."
Sorry you are having a bit of trouble with the port. I would listen to your mom and give them a call tonight. I really know nothing about the post-op and the port, but it sure sounds like it shouldn't be doing that. If you call tonight, then if it's alright to wait till tomorrow they will schedule you in for tomorrow at the very least. Better to be safe than sorry.
Good Luck and keep us updated on how you are with it.

It doesn't sound serious partially because it is stiched to the underside of your ab muscles...so as you lose weight you will see/feel it "rise to the top" when you lay down. I put that in quotes because it is not really rising, it is just more noticiable because things are flattened out for laying down.
At your second week post op you are probably moving move which could now be making you feel it. You never want to just assume everything is fine though. Call Dr. Pohl's office and talk to him or Jeremy about it.
AFTER THE SWELLING GOES AWAY YOU WILL ALWAYS FEEL YOUR PORT MORE WHEN YOU LAY DOWN AND IF YOU TIGHTEN UP YOUR STOMACH IT COMES UP MORE . WHEN YOU GET A FILL HE WILL ASK YOU TO TIGHTEN UP YOUR STOMACH MUSSELS TO PUSH UP THE PORT TO ADD THE FILL . ITS EASIER THIS WAY FOR THE DOCTOR. HOPE THIS HELPS YOU FEEL BETTER IT DOES STICK OUT WHEN U LAY DOWN. IF YOUR STILL WORRIED IT DOESNOT HURT TO SEE THE DOCTOR ELAINE
