Calling Dr. Pohl. BAHHHH !!!!!
Okay, I am not happy! I have searched and searched to attend a seminar. Seeing as though when I found the site to attend one, it supposedly had passed by... okay no biggie.. so I said I would go to the next one which was being held tonight from 6-9 at RWH. Well, thats what the website said! I go there after cramming my supper down my throat so I can make it in time, only to have people tell me there isn't one. "What do you mean?" I ask. She replies; "It was held last week." "How can that be? It's online for his seminar and states tonight and the last one held was May 10th." I stated. She says; "no no and this isn't the first time this has happened... it's all the time. I've turned away over 5 people already tonight." "Phone Number Please" I say. As she is giving me the number.... 5 more women walk in behind me for the same thing!
ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
People take this seriously, they put their lives on hold, take time off work, and leave their families to attend these things to learn as much as possible to better their health and to be happy. Well, I'm not happy now! Don't they even consider the people that go and nothing is there for them, so they end up eating from the stress? They are Doctor's for crying out loud! They should make sure the websites are updated and make sure any possible pre-op or post-op patients get notified! Especially those who miss the seminar in Worcester or other MA residents that come out because they either missed their own close by or they are in a hurry to be at one. Shhheeeesssshhhhh!!
These women were considering the surgery and had no clue about anything and wanted to know more about the surgeries. I stood there and informed them of OH and they can receive support and answers to any of their questions that I couldn't answer. I felt so bad for them! How Rude of Dr. Pohl or whomever is in charge of making sure the site is updated.
I will be making my call tomorrow a.m. to Dr. Pohl's office.
~Dawn
So sorry, Dawn! That can certain arouse one's temper. I don't blame you one bit.
The good news is - there are other doctors.
I'm in kind of a crabby mood myself. I just got my so-called C-Pap machine. I refer to it as the Crap machine. I got little sleep with the stupid thing & neither did my husband with his. Hopefully that will improve a bit tonight. It's so much fun sleeping (??) with a contraption of tubes & straps on your head blowing like a gale in your face. My lips got chapped, my throat dry, & for some reason my mouth drooled. My son laughs at me & calls it my Darth Vader look. Unfortunately, you can't speak with it on.
The Crap machine feeds air under pressure. It is designed to keep air passages open so that you get a better sleep without snoring or waking up from lack of air. I can't talk while it's on as it keeps feeding air under pressure. So it goes into my nose & down my throat. To speak I'd have to expel air under a LOT more pressure than usual, so not much voice gets out. Usually I just end up swallowing the air & then I burp or hiccup! My machine is set high. It's literally like being in a gale. breathing out takes practice, even though the pressure decreases
Yeah, irritating. We'll see if it improves.
Hi Dawn!
Sorry to hear about your situation! I don't think it is the doctor's fault...it is who ever maintains the websites fault! That's why I alway call on things ahead of time...I went to his seminar and it was extremely helpfull...call his office and find out when the next one is and get there early for a seat!
