I have a great story...
I have a great story to share.
I went hiking with a friend on Tuesday at Goddard Park in Warwick. We
covered a lot of ground and it was well after dark when I left the
park. I called a friend on my way home because I wanted to stop by her
house to see her and her husband. While I was there my phone rang with a
number that I didn't recognize. I almost didn't answer it because my
step-mother is kind of driving me nuts and calling me from different
numbers because I don't always answer her calls (long story.) Anyway,
I did answer the call and it was one of the Park Rangers from Goddard
Park. I had apparently left my backpack on the roof of my car when I
drove away and lost it in the middle of a road in the park. This is no
ordinary backpack, it is also my pocketbook as it contains everything
I need to carry, medication, license, checkbook, wallet etc. I would
be so screwed if I lost it. My daughter calls it my hippie sachel
because I am prepared for anything as long as I have my backpack.
Anyway, the Ranger, Rick, (seriously, he was Ranger Rick) called me
and told me that he found it. He also offered to drive from GP to
Cranston as soon as he left work to deliver it back to me. He even
apologized for having to look in my bag to find contact information.
We set up a time and he brought my bag back to me when he got off
work. He refused to take the $20.00 I offered him as a thank you and
just said he was glad to do it for me.
Just wanted to share a great story.
Betz
Betz,
What a great story.
I think I use to get the Ranger Rick Magazine when I was a kid.
Are you going to write a letter to Park services, about Ranger Rick coming to your rescue. Thank goodness it did not fall into the wrong hands, I don't even want to think about what would have happened.
Actually your story sounds like something from one of those romance novels.
There is a knock ont he door as you open the door you see standing there is a Tall, Tanned and Very Handsome Ranger Rick in his Uniform.
You as him to come in, as you start to blush .....................
(everyone let your imagination go where ever you want.)
Thanks for sharing, but I have go finish my day dreaming now. Paula
oh my god, paula - you just made my day. you made my productivity sink into the gutter - but who cares! ranger rick will be there to make it allllllll better.
;o)
that's a great story, betz! the world isn't such a horrible place after all!
