It's So Hard To Get It All In
I don't know about any of you, but I find it incredably hard to get all the water and the food in! I NEVER thought I would ever say that!! LOL
I am lucky if I get in 48oz of water! As for eating, I am hungry, I eat but can't fini**** all. I have to come up with a routine that I follow, so I can fit it all in!! I am 3 almost 4 weeks out...any of you have the same problem??? Thanks in advance! Patti

Hi Patti,
I just had surgery this past Thursday and am finding it very hard to get everything in. I'm hungry though. The problem is they tell you to sip, so it's taking me forever to drink anything. I'm following the post-op diet they gave me, but it definitely doesn't seem to be enough protein and that must be why I'm hungry. So I started having more protein punch - which was recommended, but only a 1/2 cup 2x per day. I'm drinking about 1 cup twice a day and am starting to feel less hungry.
What have you come up with?
Also, do you count your chicken broth as fluid in the 64 ounces?
Thanks!
Kathy
Hi Kathy, How are you doing? Its hard in the beginning, but it will get easier. I still have trouble getting all of the water in. I actually go tomorrow for my 6 month checkup. I'm hoping all my blood work comes back good. I was over at Butler on Friday. Had lunch w/Sheri. She told me that you were on vac. I didn't say anyhting to her about it. Figured, no ones business. I hope you are feeling good. Keep in touch
hiya!
i'm a year out and i still live by that routine - no joke! if i didn't, i'd probably eat like crap and/or never get the right amount of protein/liquids in. i thought it would bore me, but honestly, it gives me a sense of peace. i have a 16oz bottle of water before work, a cup of coffee on the way, another when i get there. at 9:30 i have my oatmeal, at 10 i start drinking 1 of 2 water bottles i know i need to finish before i have my turkey salad [i eat it every day]. then i have more water between 1 and 3, then 3:30 i let myself have a snack - an apple or cheese stick or something. then more water, then at 6 i have my dinner, then i allow myself something other than water. like a juice. then i have another snack before bed - and some more water...
and repeat. every day. when i don't abide by my routine - i screw up and i end up eating something bad for me. so it's just easier to know exactly what i'm supposed to do and when, so i don't even get the chance to think about screwing up and making a bad choice.
you'll learn to live and, hopefully, love your routine - this is your new life. enjoy it!
much love,

Hi guys,
I am also 3 weeks out and I find it very hard to get all the water in. I do eat on a schedule though and it helps but as far as the water goes...nope...not getting enough..hopefully that will change becuz im always so darn thirsty but can only drink a little...grrrrr.....Ive also heard that the more water you drink the more weight you will lose....anyone heard that before?
hey jullee!
don't worry - you're totally normal! It takes awhile to be able to get the daily required liquid in - but you'll do it. I think it took me about 1-2 months before i was finally able to get all 64oz + in! But you'll get there - you just have to get as much as humanly possible in now - don't ever be without your water/crystal light/whatever and just keep sipping!
yes, the more water you drink - the more you lose. This why you're supposed to drink water, nothing else, when you "diet". The same principal applies to surgigical and non-surgical weight loss. It helps flush your system out! So drink up and pee away the fat. ;)
