Feelin' a lil blue 2Day!
I went to see Dr. Roye for my post op check up. Im doing good, have only lost 14 pounds but I guess thats good for only 12 days out!
I dunno I think I really really really miss food. I keep thinking to myself...."holy crapoli will I EVER be able to eat food again?" I see other people eating and I want to cry...what have I done to myself? Why couldnt I have done this without the surgery?? I wanna cry so bad right now.........
You all know what im talking about? Has anybody been thru this? Please tell me im not the only one?
dont worry Julee! You will be fine! Yeah your missing the food, but just think at how healthy you are going to be in the near future! Think of how blessed you are to have received this opportunity to start all over again! Look ahead and be aware that this is for you best !
Best of luck to you!
God Bless.
Hi Jullee,
I'm sorry to hear you aren't feeling that great today....but 14 pounds is great! Be proud of yourself and remember why you are doing this. You weren't able to lose the weight on your own. Soon you will be able to eat - and not as much as before - and that's a great thing!
I obviously don't know exactly what you are going through, but I will be on your losing side soon enough.
Hang in there - it should only get better.
Kathy
Good Morning Julie,
I know how you feel, but TRUST ME... you will be able to eat almost anything in 6 to 9 months time...not a whole lot but you will be able to eat!! Of course the buffets are out...but who needs that anyway. It will be a year out for me this May 17th and the year flew by so fast...I am down 98 lbs...i am still trying for the 100 lb mark and I just can't see to get by it..maybe its a mental thing..who knows but I feel soooo damn good and look pretty good for a 60 year old, so I am told. So dont second guess yourself...you did the right thing. You are doing very good. Tell me one person who can lose 14 lbs in 12 days. First of all the body has to sort of re-arrange itself. Don't forget it's a shock to your system to have this weight loss so suddenly and the operation itself......You will have some plateaus and then you will lose all at once! Then you will slowly see it come off smoothly. At least thats how it was with me. I know I still have protein issues and can only handle a little at a time. A year from now you will have a ton of clothes to give away and smilin all the way to the store for smaller and smaller sizes!! Carol B
Thank you Carol, you have made me feel much better!!!!!!! I did go shopping today for my food for the puree diet..so im feeling a bit better...lol....who would of guessed that id be so excited about eating pureed food!!!!!!!! 2 weeks of that and im off to soft foods...whooohooooo....LOL

Jullee
WOW Kathy its almost that time for you!!!! You must be so excited!
You really dont need much at all. I brought Pajamas, slippers, deodorant, brush, change of undies, sports bra, lotion, and my makeup (which I didnt use). I only used the Pajamas cuz I stayed an extra night and was sick of the johnny. I also suggest bringing your own pillow (theres are horrible).
Other then that, you really dont need much, did you find out how long he was keeping you in for? Remember, if your not comfortable with going home, all you have to do is tell him and he will let you stay an extra night. Honestly, I needed the extra night becuz it seemed as though that second night was worse, Pain wise, than the first.
GOOD LUCK KATHY and keep me posted!!!!!!!! I think you have my number if you need to talk for any reason!!
Jullee
Hey Julie,
While I wasn't banded, I went w/by-pass, I clearly remember sitting at my computer in a near breakdown, tears running down my cheeks, asking exactly the same questions a few weeks after surgery. It's probably in old posts. Now, I'm nine months out and down 112lbs! I'm about a size 14, from a tight 26/28. While that may look far way to you now, believe me, it will go by quickly! You've gotten off to a fantastic start already. Woo Hoo, 14lbs gone forever!!
Chin up chicky, it gets soooo much better!
