Good New...Bad News
After calling Dr. Pohl's office on Thursday, my postponed appointment from April 26 to May 10 was changed to yesterday. I have my date...........June 6 :-). That of course is the good news. The bad news :-( .................I have to start the liquid diet (2/3 protein shakes and one small meal a day) 4 weeks prior to surgery and loss 30 pounds because of high body fat count. I have to say I want this very, very much but If I had the self control to do that I wouldn't need the surgery. This is going to be tough but I am going to give it my absolute best shot. Had I known that would be my goal back on March 1 when I first met with Dr. Pohl, I would have tried to do a very strick Weigh****chers at that time. March 1 to June 6, 3 months could have given me pretty close to the 30 pounds without the retrictions of the liquid diet.
Please wish me luck. I start the liquids on May 9.
I have to say I thougth the liquid diet was going to kill me and that I would not be able to deal with it. But after about the 3rd day, I no longer had cravings and was pretty satisfied. I ate alittle more than the 3oz when I felt more hungry than usual and stuck to the 3oz when I wasn't so hungry. Also I ate plenty of veggies to help fill me up. He doesn't give you a limit. Also, Atleast half of those two weeks I ate out. I lost 20lbs during that time and it was so easy!! Don't fret....worring about it is the worst part! Good Luck!! YOU CAN DO IT!! Patti
Dont get negative on the liquid diet, a first its hard but then u get used to it, Dr Pohl told me that I need it to loose 20 before the surgery, the same day that he told me that I bought almost all the flavor of protein that he sells at his office spend like $90 on protein went to stop shop and bought a lot of lean cuisine Oooh and I also bought an exercises machine and I started my liquid diet, 15 days later I went to weight me to his office I loss 22 pounds, so if you stick to it, is going to work.. I know that u can do it...
good luck
