Newbee - Needs a shoulder to cry on

Hi All, In January I attended a WLS seminar and immediately started scheduling my appointments. Had my first meeting with my doctor on March 1 and was only two appointments away from completing all testing. March 16 called to schedule my second appointment and was given the date of April 26, this Thursday. As the day got closer I couldn't believe it was finally here and I was going to begin to move forward again. Seems like I have been in limbo since March 16 just waiting. Today I got a call from the office. My doctor will be away on Thursday and my appointment had to be rescheduled until May 10. After I hung up the phone I sat at my desk in tears. I know when I finally meet with him I will have another 4 to 6 week wait or longer before I will finally have my surgery. Waiting is sooooooooo difficult. Thanks for listing, just had to share with folks I know would understand my frustration and disappointment Karen

Dear Karen, I'm with you! This is one long, dragged out process. Sorry about the rescheduling. My first appointment was exactly like that, too. Unfortunately, they make up the rules. Eileen

Karen, First I have to say that I am sorry to hear that you will be postponed. There is nothing more frustrating!! Is your doc Dr. Pohl? I had surgery on the 10th with him and he's a great surgeon. Second, call the office every thursday to see if there has been any cancelations. Third, I have an appointment with him this thursday and they haven't call me yet...hummm...I have a 2 hour drive to get there...I better call them tomorrow!! Keep your chin up...don't be discouraged! He has a surgery on Thursday. I am not sure if it's in the morning into the afternoon. I did get a call and they rescheduled me for Friday. He will actually be in that day. I am first thing Friday Morning at 8. I am so happy that I didn't have to be pushed out even more. It's been a long process for me and pretty much a year since I first saw him and over a year since I went to the seminar. I hope they didn't reschedule you and not tell you, but maybe your appointment is late in the day and he is still seeing his later appointments?

Sounds like you are seeing Dr. Pohl. Your appointment will be there in no time. I know how hard it is to wait. It's taken me a year to finally get my date and see hiim again. I did have an appointment on Thursday but I am lucking that he is coming in for a little bit on Friday to make up some appointments and I am the first I believe. Just wanted to let you know I can totally relate. For the past two months I have been waiting on tests to get back to the office and to make an appointment and for my insurance approval.
