Has this happened to anyone?

Hi everyone! I saw Dr. Roye last Friday and thought everything would be ok - as I passed all my testing with flying colors. But apparently I have gained 10 pounds since I saw him at the end of January and he wasn't happy with me! He basically scheduled my surgery for 5/3, but said if I don't lose the 10 pounds, he's going to reschedule it. I was so upset. 10 pounds doesn't sound like a lot - and I'm sure it's doable....but what if I don't lose it? I started doing protein shakes for breakfast and lunch (well, started it today) and will have salad with protein for the next 4 weeks straight...and also bought "The Diet Source" at the Vitamin Shoppe - you are suppose to lose 10-20 pounds in a month with this stuff. After my long-winded explanation - did this happen to anyone else?

Hi Kathleen...I have Dr. Roye too..he did tell me to lose at least ten pounds before ourlast visit and I did...it sounds like a lot, but basically I cut out soda, fast foods and increased my water intake and it came off pretty easily. You can do it.....and before you know it you will be on the losers bench!! Good luck!!

If you loose the ten or more its better for your surgery because loosing decreases the size of the liver and the surgery is even easier to preform. As Dr. Roye said include some walking and lots of water with crystal light to get it in easier and youll be fine . Good luck elaine
