i'm thnking they made have made a mistake by changing the format of the meetings... do you think that's what causing it? no one really wants to have a topic.. i think they just want to be around people who've dealt with the same issues/experiences that they have.. i dont know, that's just my take on it.

I feel bad for the people that were there for the first time. I think it would have totally turned them off and wonder what the HECK kind of support would the group offer them with such a negative first impression. Change is hard for everyone, but they need to have the education portion to be able to get the certification for a Center of Excellence. So there is not much that can be done about cutting out the education topics. Personally, I find them interesting even if it is a topic that I have already reseached. It must be hard for the people who actually started the group to have the fomat change, but change can be good. We all handle it everday. Thank goodness Betz was there because it was really difficult meeting to attend. Hopefully next month's meeeting there normalcy will be back for everyone. If you want attend the Educational Topics then you need to be there @ 6:15 pm. Hope to see some HAPPY faces there. Paula

oooooo! I didn't go either. I had gotten a bit freaked driving home on 146 in the crazy snow storm that afternoon, so even though it cleared up I'd already seen, and gotten traffic jammed, in two accidents so I didn't go. I've been disappointed with the last two meetings that I went to. The topics were interesting, but for some reason, when they open the floor for discussion, nobody talks like we used to. It's very strange. Plus there've been much fewer people. I didn't go in the winter the year before my surgery, so I don't know if it's like that normally. I'm hoping once the weather gets a bit nicer, more people will be willing to venture out. Hey Betz, I pm'd ya. pam

Kristen*, You are pretty much hit the nail on the head. What I got out of is was that there was talk of the "old timers" leaving and forming there own group again, because they have been so dis-satisfied with the meetings. The panel was trying to find a way to make them happy and still meet the requirements for the Center of Excellence. It was difficult to say the least. Well see what next month to see what happens. How are the plans for your trip to WDW coming? Keep them laughing, Paula
