Got a date for my Lap Band

It's May 8th!!!! THE DAY AFTER my b-day!! lol S , I'll be on clear for my b-day. They offered to make it the wee later and I said no. I want to get it over with. I start my liquid pre-op diet on April 24th so we're having a big b-day dinner on April 22nd!!! I feel like doing cartwheels!! Anyone out there with a band at Dr Pohl/Dr Giovanni's? how conservative are they with fills? thanks!!

Congrats Jan!! I see Jeremey in the Dr. Pohl's office for my post-op. I hope you also see him because when it comes to fills he has great aim and always gets it on the first shot. I was very comfortable with their fills. The first fill I didn't feel...the second I did and ended up needing more time to adjust to before getting my third...I am now on my fourth. Good luck! Congratulations Jan!!!! Im having my band surgery on April 18th with Dr. Roye. Hes not making me do the liquid diet though...thank goodness!!!!! Im still not sure how the whole fill thing works...do you have to get them? Is it part of the procedure?

Jullee, Fills are part of the band process. I'd reccommend you read all your info thoroughly. Dr's differ with fills but yes you do have to get them to get proper restriction.

I don't even know how much I have in my band...I would say they are conservative.

I have nothing. I haven't had my second appointment yet either. I have all my testing done. I was trying to call the office but the line was busy. I want to know if they have sent in my info for insurance approval. I think that is all that I am waiting for, approval and my second appointment. I have to admit it has been getting hard for me to come visit right now being in limbo and seeing others get a date that seems to be so fast. I sometimes feel like the girls in Dr Pohl's office fight you on getting information on what you need to finish to get the surgery. I am going to try to call again later today to get an update on what's going on so that when I have my appointment on the 26th. Sometimes I wish I had Blue Cross so I could have been over all this already. LOL I still wish the best for you. I am loving that there are more and more LapBand people showing up on the RI Board here. Just don't fall of the planet after the surgery like some other banders do.

I was one of the lucky one's who didn't have any problems with the process. HANG IN THERE!!! Keep calling, be persistant. This is about YOUR life!! If you ever need to vent you know were I am. I would call them NOW!! Tell them how frustrated you are and don't worry I will not fall off the board post -op. It's way to helpful!!
