Infection
Hello, everyone.
Today is my three-week anniversary. Last Tuesday, I had a massive infection eruption out of my suture. It was quite disgusting. I ended up in the hospital overnight, and the doctor called it a "cellusomething-or-other". Anyway, I guess it's common. I'm scarfing down as much protein as I can drink because protein helps the healing process (about 80 grams a day), and I'm getting really mad because this is my fourth week out, and I was hoping to be all set to return to work within a couple of weeks. Now this will probably set me back about three more weeks. I need to get the wound (it's open) cleaned out every day, and I'm getting a tad discouraged.
Has anyone else had this? If so, any advice?
Thanks.
Hi Anna,
I am sorry that you are having difficulties. I didn't have infection from this surgery but I had a deep tissue cellulitis one time. It was gross. It had to heal from the inside. I had to pack the wound several times a day. Just remember to keep on top of it and remember that this too will pass. Soon you will be on the go again.
