Fasting??

Question...for those of you who had the lap band, did you have to fast before your surgery? I only have to fast from midnight the night before and ive heard from other people that they had to fast. Maybe that was for the gastric.

I had to fast one day and do the bowel prep. That is all Dr. Roye required. Betz

I have to fast the night before but no bowel prep...I guess everyone is different. They also have me going to outpatient on the day of my surgery, which I thought was kinda weird. They do keep me for a day at least right? What time did you have to go to the hospital the day of your surgery? Sorry, for all the questions.... Jullee

Hey Jullee, I had open RNY with Dr. Roye so some of the things are deffinitely different. When I had my surgery I had to be at the hospital at something like 5:00 am. I know you won't stay as long as I did. My surgery was on a Thursday and I was discharged on Sunday. Betz
