Blue Cross Says it's a Go!
I thought they'd turn me down the first time!. This makes me wonder about how sick that I really am to be approved in less than a week. Of course, I just had some bloodwork returned & none of it was good news!
But this IS good news! My younger sister had this done. She looked around one day when a saleswoman told her she should be in the "petite" section and it turned out to be her! She's got a whole new life & I'm so happy for her.
I'm not looking for a "new" life, just a healthier one.
I made the grade because while I am not 100 lbs. overweight, I do have a few new comorbidities - asthma, cholesterol, GERD, pre-diabetic, and joint pain. Most within the past yr.
I rec'd my packet today from Dr. Ryder's office & am looking forward to one heckuva journey. I also hope to make the April meeting & look forward to meeting many of you..

Eileen,
Congratulations! I know how you feel. I was very relieved when I got my approval and my packet too. Just had my Nutrional consult today, and it went very well.
Tomorrow I have the first half of my Psych consult (crossing my fingers)
You have started on the yellow brick road to a new life.!!!!
All the best, Paula

My psych consult was horrible, they didnt approve me so I had to go to the counseling. I see now why they made me go, but at the time i was soooo mad!!! I still go to the counseling with Dr. Messier in Providence even though she has ok'd me for the surgery. i actually enjoy going!!!!! Good Luck!!

I had my surgery on January 30th -two months ago just about.. I was there for two days but I had the bipass. I got schedueled very quickly and the whole process only took me three months from beginning to end. I walked in with all test results in hand.. Roye schedueled me in ten days from second visit.
