Hi Carol, I am seeing Dr. Elmer Valin in New Haven CT. i am having an updated version of the vertical banded gastroplasty,,,which is sort of like a lap band without the adjustments. i am sure not a popular choice for most, but I have researched and have faith in my doctor to be making the decision that is best for me. I also could not beleive how fast things seem to be moving, although i am also grateful they are.... melissa
