Need suggestions please
Hi Kathy! I HATE protien shakes...LOL The carnation instant breakfast sugar free one is the best tasting in my opinion. If you mix it with skim milk you get the same amount of protien as you would from a shake. I can't do them anymore though because I can't do milk and the lactaid leaves such a nasty taste in my mouth I gagg. I don't hate the wildberry or citrus ones that Dr. Pohl sells, but you are not his patient so I don't know how much that will help......I know a lot of the people like the designer whey, but I have never tested that so I don't know about that...e-mail me your address and I will send you the leftover shakes that I got from Dr.Pohl's office that I hate maybe you will have success with them. Talk soon.
Hi Kathleen
I am not a big fan of the protien shakes myself. When I was mainly on liquid protien (I am a by-pass gal) I used Smart for Me cold drinks www.smartforme.com (they've also been sold as bari-drinks and I think Lindora.com sells them under another name). They mix clear, like kool-aid, not thick like a shake. They are about 5 grams lower than some protien shakes (about 15 grams per 6oz) but being more like water I found them so much easier to drink. They are on sale right now at smart for me.
I also currently drink Isopure bottled protien, which you can get at any GNC nutrition store. Some people find them a little too sweet, but once again, to me they are like kool-aid. They are 40 grams of protien in 20oz. So you get your protien and your fluid.
Oh yeah, at smartforme, Lindora and the site that advertises here on the board, the name escapes me at the moment Marie something, they all advertise hot chocolate that has 15 grams of protien and clear broth that has protien. I loved them all when I was on only liquids. I also rely really heavily on unflavored whey protien. GNC does sell that, but you can get it cheaper on-line at www.allthewhey.com I put it in everything. I have it in my orange juice in the morning, I put it in mashed potatoes and sugar free pudding and yogurt, so I get a little boost of added protien in just about everything.
