Ok I am now past three weeks and am looking for suggestions for foods to eat in the soft foods stage. I have found a few things I like but I am a fussy eater. I will list a few of the things I do so far but would welcome some suggestions. I don't do yougart or cottage cheese so those are out. My favorite broths are 1/2 Knorr beef broth and 1/2 tomatoe sauce Yum also chicken or vegetable broth are good. Chicken soup with no chicken or pasta. Vegetable broth with carrots, garlick, cellery and a dash of onion in the blender till it is liquid then simmered for 1 hour. Forget the babby food it sucks. Blender apples and cinnamon or cherries fresh are better Just a dash of splenda Also peaches with a dash of honey blended. really really soft scrambled egg with lots of milk, salt and pepper. Kristen's pastaless manicotti is great. Ricotta cheese with tomatoe sauce Yum. Interesting that while I really am not hungry Peggy advised me that we must eat something so our intestines do not get lazy. Not much protien in some of these so I know I still have to do the shakes to get the 45 grams of protien a day that is required. Looking Forward to some good suggestions. Thanks Tom

I did ground chicken with fat free gravy....and ground beef with mashed potatoes and fat free gravy. With the ground meats we carefully separated into small small small pieces as we cooked it.

I did a lot of broiled chicken pureed in the magic bullet with fat free broth. A lot of people have issues with chicken but I never have. I put a bit of fat free mayo in sometimes with some relish. mm chicken salad. I also did the riccotta cheese with tomato sauce. I could never stand soup. Betz

Hey Tom, Have you checked out the book Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies, they have suggestions and recipes in there, plus a lot of other very helpful information. Also, if you go to the main message board you're likely to get a few more responses (not to betray the RI site, but this board has been too quiet for too long) I always used low sugar oatmeal and unflavored protien powder(I also add splenda). I put the unflavored protien powder in everything, mashed potatoes, oj, sugar free pudding, applesauce. I've heard you can get it at GNC, but none of the ones near me carry it. I get it online at www.alltheway.com Congrats on your surgery. Glad you're doing well. Pam

I don't have any food suggestions...I've yet to actually eat anything, but I do have a protien suggestion. The Isopure protien drinks at GNC are pretty good and since you are eating other foods with other vitamins in them I don't think it would hurt to drink them for a little extra protien. They are buy one and get one 50%off right now too.
