Hello, Is anybody out there??

Where is everybody? I've been reading all of your stories and posts for months now, and finally signed in myself. Then all of a sudden...it got very quiet. I'm relying on all of you for support and encouragement. I want to know your ups and downs to help me in this journey to better health and smaller size! Thanks, Patty

Hi Patty! What kind of surgery are you having or have you already had it? I am having gastric bypass surgery on Tuesday and am a bundle of mixed emotions.....I just hope I sleep well when I am in the hospital because when I don't sleep, I get very depressed and that is the last thing I need right now...LOL

Hi Stephanie, I want lap-band surgery, but I have been at odds with United Health Care. The details are on my profile... On Monday I have new health insurance and will again submit for approval. My thoughts and prayers will be with you on Tuesday. A very dear friend of mine had RNY 2 years ago, she looks and feels great; wishes she had done it sooner! Patty

Hi Patty, I wish you alot of luck. I know this board has been very quiet. I usually go to the main board as there is always stuff on there. I had the gastric bypass in May and i am thrilled. I am having down times now as I find myself hungrey alot but I have lost 123 lbs so far. So I think that is good. But keep us posted as how things are going. Where in RI do you live? Hi Patty I agree, the RI board has been quiet since after New Year's, way too quiet. I too go to the main board, tons of stuff going on there, but I stop in here every day or so. Sorry to hear about the insurance. Other people have been in your same shoes, keep pluggin away. Post on the main board, you'll likely get lots of suggestions. I hope your new insurance has the brains to support preventative medicine like the bypass and lap band surgery. In the long run it's so much less expensive for them. I was lucky, we had Blue Cross/Blue Shield. I had the RNY bypass back in July and am down 93 pounds. I am thrilled to say that I am in a size 16 jeans, from a tight 26/28. Good luck with your insurance, never give up. It will be worth it in the end. Pam

Hi Patty~I've been on this site for about a year now and I noticed that the RI forum has its slow periods and its "I can't keep up" periods. LOL I just had my consult with my surgeon and am waiting for the approval from my insurance company. I'm also planning on having lap-band procedure done.
