The lady from Dr. Pohl's office called me yesterday and said that she was going to have to cancel my surgery because some other patient had cancer( I don't think that it was a weight loss patient) and was top priority.......I totally get that and thank GOD I am healthy enough to wait and not be top priority, but it completely messed up all the plans that I had for the next 6 mos or so...not to mention that my mother is flying in from Tennessee to help me with the kids becuase my hubby can't get any time off of work this time of year.....I was in tears...I called my mom and she said that her tickets were not refundable or transferrable so she was going to have to come up here Sat wether I was having the surgery or not...I also remembered that my husband's company was recently bought by another company and the insurance was going to change.....so I called the office back and told them my predicament..I am ashamed to say that by that time I was almost sobbing. I explained my situation to them and they called around and was able to reschedule some other people (not the cancer patient!) and I was able to keep my date and time...thank GOD!!!!! So if it was one of you out there that agreed to switch things around I am eternally grateful to you....also I want to say that the ladies in Dr. Pohl's office are wonderful and one even volunteered to watch my girls if need be...LOL See there are some pretty great people out there....So I am still scheduled for the 27th which is Tuesday of next week...I am so nervous and excited at the same time....I hope they give me some good pain meds..LOL

Hi Stephanie, Your surgery was meant to be, otherwise things would not have worked out. I'm not familiar with Dr. Pohl, I'm a bit embarrassed to admit, but if it's University Surgical Associates then I've always been treated very well by the staff there. Congrats on your up coming surgery. While the surgery is not pain-less, it isn't nearly as bad as you might anticipate. Some people experience very little pain and only take extra strength Tylenol, believe it or not. I had some pain, and they do provide you with medication so that you can be comfortable. The nurses at RIH are just awesome! As are the rest of the team. Try not to be nervous, it will be done before you realize it, and you will be on your way to a healthy, happier you. Keep us posted and please, please don't hesitate to ask questions. Pam

Thank you Pam, and you are right .....it was meant to be. I just can't wait for the surgery to be over so I can stop worrying about it.....
