Just had my surgery two days ago
hi Linda!
being sleepy is VERY normal. all of the anesthesia they have to use on you, really takes a toll on your body - not to mention the crazy positions they may have put you in [just because ER shows a body flat on the table, doesn't mean that's how they kept you!], so you're going to be tired!
i had open surgery which is different than lap [i'm assuming that's what you had]. It took me about 6 weeks to finally feel "normal". I hear it's about 2-4 weeks with lap surgery.
Whatever you do, don't feel guilty about taking a nap. That's your body teling you it NEEDS sleep. So rest! Get up and walk around, while sipping your drinks, walk some more, eat something, walk some more [even laps around the rooms of your house is better than nothing], then drink some, then take another nap.
repeat.
repeat.
and repeat again until it's bedtime.
wake up.
and repeat.
this will be your life for awhile! enjoy the rest while you can!
