questions regarding the office of doctor Harry Sax
Hi all.. I'm thinking of haivng the surgery through the office of Dr Harry Sax-
already approved-
does anyone have anthing they could share about the procedure? how quickly is the surgery schedueled after the last test and how long of a wait is there between visits?
I have my test all done I think and been approved already from another doctors office who is just taking too long with what I have to do next and is just too busy it seems-
Anyway my first appointment with Sax in three weeks-
this waiting is making me insane-
what are the time frames with sax office?
oh, cool.
i forgot miriam had a WLS program! a friend of mine goes through their weight loss center, and has been trying to deal with her food issues without surgery. It's a much easier hospital to deal with than RIH, that's for sure. There's only 2 parking lots! LOL
sorry I don't have any information for you. I'm not sure if there's anyone who uses this board who's gone to him. Maybe if you do end up using his office, you can send those people the link so we can all share information with each other. Sometimes it feels like this board is very "Roye/Ryder/Pohl" -centric. you know?
i say, the more info the better!

i'm eternally curious about other people's programs, because there are sooo many ways to deal with this surgery. i like learning what other people are required to do - sometimes there's good tips from differing programs.
how does their program work?
do you know what their post-op regimen is like?
what about after care and all that?
i hear ya on wanting to get this surgery. it's like once you make up your mind to have it - you want it done immediately. the waiting is the hardest part of this whole process. but, i have to tell you - i think the waiting and anticipation is one of the key factors in successful WLS patients. The more you wait, the more time you have to research the drastic change you're about to make to your body. the more you research, the more you learn. the more you learn, the more you know - or so says NBC. lol
it took me almost 5 years to finally get through the process. It was 5 years and 3 progams before I landed in Dr. Roye's hands. The first surgeon I met gave me a surgery date within a month - I didn't like him and just couldn't bring myself to let him do surgery on me. He was a great surgeon, I'm sure - he worked at one of the best hospitals in the US - but he just wasn't for me, you know? It was one of those weird things that happens with people you first meet - that first impression just wasn't a good one and I left feeling like a number.
maybe i wasn't ready at that point, maybe it was principle, maybe it was what it was, and we didn't get along. but whatever it was, i'm really glad i didn't jump the gun. i've spent the last 5 years researching and researching this lifestyle [i'm a bit fanatical when it comes to things like this.. i can't stop when i get onto things i'm interested in. lol]. i really feel like i know so much more than i would have, if i had made my decision and had that surgery within the month.
i think it's so great to hear that you're looking into two surgeons. i hope you find the one who best suits what you're looking for in a lifelong partner. i figure if i'm going to have to see this guy [or girl, sorry Dr. Ryder] for the rest of his/my life - then i'd better like him. LOL.

Hi, Linda
I had my surgery with dr. Sax in Feb of 2006. I have lose 120 pounds. I had tryed other doctor in the area and had problems, waiting for appointments was one if them. Dr. Sax is in my opinion very good. He is wel informed and very professional. He answer all my question and great with follow-up. After I went to see him I has surgery within two months. I also was already approved and had no problem with that. Do not let the waiting make you insane. Things may turn out better then you think.
