aw yeah.
i'm so freaking proud of myself.
i made it through the holiday without hurting myself or doing things i shouldn't. This may even be the first holiday in my entire life where i didn't gain weight overnight.
I ate a lot less turkey than I thought i could/would/should. It wasn't dry, so I'm not sure what was going on - it just filled me up realllyyyy quickly. so i didn't get much of a chance to even think about eating stuffing. i had my mom's make a greenbean/cauliflower casserole that has bacon and cheese in it [can you believe it's a South Beach diet recipe? it's not exactly "healthy", but it IS low carb and high protein for a vegetable lol]. so i ate the turkey and that.. and i was done.
An hour later, we had the SF apple crisp i make.. and i really only had 2, maybe 3 small bites of it.
Then I had to go Jay's familys' Thanksgiving. 50 people, and an entire buffet of all sorts of bad things. I counted 13 pies. And i only ate a slice of apple of out of one of them.
I was still stuffed from the earlier meal, so I had a stuffed mushroom and a cracker with cheese on it.. and that was it.
It was really cool to go see Jay's family. Most of them hadn't seen me since last thanksgiving, or Jay's birthday party back in August. I must say, the attention was nice. LOL.
So, i battled my demons and won - couldn't be happier. Now if I can just get through christmas, we'll be all set.
I hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday and they got to spend it filled with the love of family and friends, hopefully in a nice warm, dry place.. cuz it was miserable yesterday!
much love,
