Went well w the nutritionist, I'm not drinking enough milk so came home and started. I hope your right about after Monday's visit. She game me some advice about when diet is increased which I felt Dr. Roye's hand out was vague about the diet. She also informed me that he is opposed to the shakes, which I found interesting, But I am at the mind set whatever he says that is what I will do I'm not going to chance any deviation from his plan.

Yeah, I agree the handout is very vague. He never said anything to me about the shakes though. I have one for breakfast every day just to make sure I am getting protein in. I don't like cottage cheese and yogurt is just ok to me...and I don't want to have eggs every day. The doctors don't want you to rely on it because if you start eating again you will gain..they want you to rely on real food. That is interesting about the milk...aren't you on clears?? I didn't think you could have mil****il you were on full liquids...I just heard from another bandster who just got her first fill...she said it was quick and easy and she has a little restriction already. that makes me so happy because I am so ready for mine...a week and a half to go...yay!! My nutritionist said that he really didn't like the cottage cheese option...I told her that was fine with me because I really can't tolerate it even not being banded...blech!! I am so excited for you to go to your 1st visit....once you hear the words mushies you are going to be flying high...I know i was....lol

Monday is the day,I can't wait. On the hand out for the first two weeks listed are clear broth, skim milk, fruit juice no sugar added popsicles. Kristen when was your surgery? When you go for a fill is it done under x-ray? I tell you I would have thought weight would be melting off w all these restrictions but I know it is the body responding.

I never realized that you could have milk...it would have at least made the 10 days a little more pleasant. I had my surgery on October 17th. I just heard from someone who had her surgery 2 weeks before me and she just got her 1st fill. They do it in the office and not under x-ray. she said it was quick and easy. she has to go back on clears for a little bit to let the stomach to heal from the fill. I thought I would have lost more than I have. Once I started on mushies the scale goes up and down. I was down 13 pounds at my 1st visit. I am sure by the time I get my fill I will be up a little from there. You will probably lose a bit once your body adjusts to the liquids. Everyone says that you don't really start losing until a few fills. That is why I can't wait to at least get one in. a few more days of that awful broth...never thought I would get through it, and now have to do it again after my fill....but it is a sacrafice that will be well worth it in the end!! Are you feeling better these days?? It does get so much better...Sometimes I forget I have the band...I eat too fast and get sick (they call it a PB..productive burp) and let me tell you it is AWFUL. I have to change my mindset about eating...old habits do die hard....lol

i'm feeling much better I think all my problems were from the Vicodin in the beginning. I don't feel any nausea now just bored w the diet. I't's pretty hard to be creative w 4 choices. I'm surprised at how slow the weight loss is.
