ok, so i hate breakfast. until i had this surgery, i was a "i eat a bagel for breakfast every day" kinda girl. obviously that had to change real quick. so i've struggled.. lately i've been having a bowl of Kashi GoLean cereal w/ skim milk which is about 17-20g of protein, depending on how much of it i eat. so i ran out of cereal the other day and knew i had to eat something. the cafe at work has a salad bar with all sorts of fruit, cottage cheese and other things in the morning. so i'm poking around and threw some cottage cheese, a hard boiled egg and some pineapple in a bowl. normally, i hate when my food touches each other - so i ate the pineapple real quick.. as i was trying to eat the hardboiled egg.. it kept getting cottage cheese all over it. at first i thought, "eew, that's so gross" and then i realized... "heyyy.. this doesn't taste too bad!" so this morning, i put the pineapple in a different bowl, and kept the hardboiled egg and cottage cheese in another. I cut up the egg and mushed it into the cottage cheese. holy crap! it was almost like an egg salad consistancy - but better for you! maybe i'm late to the game and other people have done this.. but if you haven't - i'd suggest trying it! especially for those who are just transitioning into soft foods. this should work great! anyway, just thought i'd share. Kriston*, That sound great. I think I will try it with cottage cheese with chives. Even though I haven't had the surgery yet, it never hurts to eat healthier. Thanks, Paula
