i have my appt with dr ryder dec 18. i work full time and also go to school at night. i don't want the preop testing to take for ever, so i had my pcp order the sleep study, i have an appt for jan 15 for that already. i have now been thinking about setting up the psych eval. should i book it? i don't want to go into the appt with dr ryder looking pushy, but i don't have a lot of flexibility in my schedule. i've already contacted my ins company and my plan does cover the surg, and i took a look at the requirements and i think i'll be ok when it comes to getting their approval. i have worked in medical offices since i was 16yrs old and i know who patient paperwork can be pushed to the side, because what is of extreme importance to you is just another task to them. i really what to at least secure appt for the psych eval, and any other testing i'll need. i'm will to wait until after the appt with dr ryder to have any testing, but is it too pushy to make the appts now?

i don't see why not. just make sure you're using the doctors dr. ryder wants you to use.. otherwise, the appts may be in vain. i didn't have to do the psych eval, because i'd already gone through one at Lahey in Burlington. So i'm not sure who she uses for psych doc's. the sleep study is the most difficult appt to make - so you're already one step ahead of most people. kristen*

I also have dr Ryder. I also did some of my testing ahead of time through my PCP and it was fine with them. Good luck!! I think scheduling things now is a good idea! Kerry
