Did you like eating? Nothing seems to agree with me! I'm not complaining though lol Just curious. L.

what do you mean "not agree with me"? i had no appetite.. but ate anyway. nothing really tasted "Good", like i was used to things tasting.. except the ricotta/cottage cheese mush. i loved that stuff. if you're throwing up all the time and can't keep anything down - call the surgeon. you could have a stricture. if you're throwing up on occasion - make sure you are still pureeing things to a mush and slow down eating. take a bite, walk away from it. i think it's supposed to take you about a half hour to finish your 2oz, but check the paperwork. i may not remember correctly.

I haven't been throwing up. Like you said, things just don't taste good lol But, I am hungry! It's like nothing satisfies...the mind? I don't know. Walking away is a good idea, thanks. I tend to eat fast...bad habits are hard to break I guess. L.

oh, ok. good. i'm glad you aren't throwing up! thats really not good so soon out of surgery. but yeah, the lack of appetite is totally normal. you aren't eating anything particularly tasty right now.. so it's going to be hard. but definitely watch your speed. you are healing, your stomach is all cut up - so be gentle on it! now, i'm able to eat a meal in 10-15 minutes.. but when iw as at your stage, it would've been destructive to healing, you know? so figure out what works for you... if it's walking away, or a timer, or reading a paragraph between bites, only eating during commericials, whatever. just slow downa nd things might go a little better? i had cravings for things like chips and dip, so i tried to make things i could eat that were similar.. like a crab dip. it's a good time to get creative! good luck!

Hi L: I'm finding everything also leaves a nasty after taste. The doctor told me to try broccolli. What a big mistake. I was in so much pain. I cried for hours. I've decided to stick with my yogurt, refried beans and my shakes. I'm still having a terrible time drinking anthing cold or water left out. I told my doctor, but he's not sure why, so needless to say, I'm not getting in all of my water or protein. It will be three weeks tomorrow. I was hoping to feel better, but I'm hopeful in time it will. Good luck with your progress. Kelli

brocolli can be very easy for most of us to digest.. it just has to be super mushy. like.. boiled way too long, kind of mushy. the one bad thing about broc is that it can make people gassy - so that might've been where the pain came from. i'd stick to zucchini/yellow squash - boiled in some chicken broth.. i peeled the peel off and only ate the center mushy part. this worked really well for me!
