Hi Elaine... A Panniculectomy is when they remove the "apron" that some people have that is hanging from loosing alot of wt. or loosiing it over and over again.... I hope that explains it.. I checked your profile and see you had the lap band procedure - Who did it and how did it go?

Hi Gail...... WELCOME. Well, my surgery was only 3 1/2 weeks ago, so I'm no where near ready for it, but I sure plan to have one....complete with abdominoplasty when it's time. Shel

i think most of the regulars that post here [with exception of Elisa] are fairly new post ops. i might be one of the farthest out at 6 months.. however. panniculetomy, abdominoplasty, and a boob job are all in my future. LOL

Hi Gail, Welcome. I am not sure if everyone needs one? I met a woman yesterday age 30 who has lost 100 lbs in less than a year after bypass and has only used the treadmill daily for 15 min and looks great and says she doesent need any surgery. WOW she did look great too. Mad my wife jealous Tom A

No but I need one!!!! If you can come to the meeting on Nov 1st there are people there who have had plastics done. I am also beginning to look into this. The younger people don't have as many problems because their skin still has a lot of elasticity but it really all depends on how long you were obese, how big you were and so many other factors. It is really a case by case thing for everyone. Hope to see you at the support meeting next Wednesday at RIH, Gerry House if you can make it. I am from New York and have been here since January but I am 2 years post op now and have lost 195 lbs. Hugs, Elisa
