I'm Baaaaack...and With a Date
Welcome Back and great to see you. Thank You so much for your words in response to my post about losing my sister. Also, CONGRATS on your upcoming surgery. Isn't it exciting??
As far as the getting in the favorites before surgery, we all do it.
I felt like I needed a last Big Mac a last Whopper, bakery pizza, lasagna, eggplant, buffalo wings, krispe kreme................... the list is endless. I only got the eggplant though, I didin't want to gain. It is normal to think like this.
I am 2 1/2 months out and only every once in a while I get a craving for something sinfully unhealthy. When that happens I get something that isn't too awful bad for me but satisfies that inner pig-out queen, something like blueberries and cool whip free.

SOOO glad I'm not alone in this last minute eating, and hearing everyone else say they went through the same things makes me feel so less guilty! lol Damn, lasagna and krispy creme...those are 2 I hadn't thought of! I have managed to do McD's fries, choc chip cookies, lobster, steak, and cheesecake though. Hard to believe this time next week I'll be eating (drinking) only clear broth, skim milk, and water!
We're actually having friends for dinner tonight and I'm cooking this big fancy meal (more for me than them!). I also need to break it to them that our weekly "dinner and a movie night" is going to have to change! Not sure what they're reaction will be to the surgery but can't really just blow them off and not tell them why.
The berries and FF cool whip is a good idea. I'll make a mental note.

Hey Trace,
Great news on getting a date!! I was the same way last week about food. I never eat Kentucky Fried Chicken and begged my husband to bring some home Saturday night....lol...I tried not to eat too bad, but didn't hold back much either. I just got home from the hospital and my husband was eating chicken and veggies over rice and it smelled delicious. I was very envoius, but know I could not fit that into my pouch right now anyway. Only 3 days out and I am tired of chicken broth. It is all clears for 2 weeks then full liquids. I came home and had a sf popsicle and it was fabulous because you only get sf jello, broth and apple juice in the hospital. Be sure to get up and walk...I was so darn tired and slept so much but it did help to walk around a bit. If you have any questions, let me know...
Take care and it will come up quick!!!

Kristen:
I wish I had known to give a heads up.........if you're good and the nurses love you, they sneak sf popsicles into their freezer on the floor and put your name on em and bring em to you while your in Coop. I had them all the time. I should have said something earlier for those who just went in.
But you have em now!!!
Take care.
