I'm Baaaaack...and With a Date
Hi everyone,
Wow, long time no "see." I feel like I haven't been here forever, and I guess it HAS been about 4-5 weeks. Sheesh. A lot has been going on, especially that my mom and aunt visited from Michigan. Mom has a mental illness so visits are always a challenge. (I'm choosing not to tell her about the surgery so she doesn't flip out.)
Reading some back posts it seems everyone is doing really well! LOTS of losing going on! YAY! Can't wait to see everyone at the November meeting, especially after missing the last 2 and feeling so out of touch.
On Sept. 24 I saw Dr. Ryder and got a surgery date of October 23rd. That's next Monday and I can't believe it's almost here! And...I think I'm doing something really stupid... I've organized my entire week around cooking my favorite foods/meals. My husband thinks I'm nuts because I'm totally determined to make sure I get it "all in", so to speak. Is this normal?!

I was wondering if anyone from the OH board would be having surgery on my day because I know from reading here that lots of times 2 or 3 people are in on the same day. I was beginning to think I would all alone. 
I hope we do see each other there. Maybe they'll make us roomies! (It would make sense, wouldn't it?) My husband keeps nagging me about what time and I keep reminding him I have to call the day before. I admit, I'm antsy, too. What are you doing to get ready? Are you having these food goodbyes like me?
Maybe we should "coordinate" before Monday.

Hi Jamice,
Thanks, and I don't blame you for being a bit jealous. I'm sure I would be, too. Part of the reason it all happened so fast, I think, is because my work schedule allowed me to scheudule all the doc appts anytime, and I could take last minute cancellations so that helped a lot.
But, you are SOOOO close it will be your time before you know it! Do you have your psych eval scheduled? Has Dr. Pohl given you any idea of how far he's scheduling out? It might be better to not have it right before the holidays are starting anyway.

Trace I go for my psych evaluation next Thursday. I don't know whom I am seeing. I am just hoping I pass this and I can call Dr. Pohl and see him and see if I can get approved finally and get a date.
I really need to get this surgery done before next year or the end of January. My company is going to be closing well merging about all corporate is going to be laid off. So I want to get it before I have to look for another job.
I am so wishing you the best of luck. Monday is going to be here in no time.
