Ok, so my scale must be wrong, cause they had me at 310 at Dr. Harringtons. Started at 342, 339 on surgery day, so 32 total dropped...I'll take it! Still a little swollen, so once that goes down, I think I'll get under that 300 mark. He says I'm doing great, the insision is looking great. Took out the staples, put on sterry strips for a couple days for added protection. Feels soooooo good to have the damn staples out! He also moved me up to very soft foods...so long as I chew chew chew, so that helps me to eat more protein...says meat is fine, just slowly and blended. Told me to walk, nothing else yet. Next appt on 11/14...he says he'll release me for full/regular activity on that date...which means back to work around then...hoping to grab an extra week, since Thanksgivings is the following week and my job gives us Thurs and Fri off and Tuesday is my day off, kinda pointless to work Mon and Wed., so I'll see if I can talk him into it! Anyone else have any updates? I'm going shopping today for some stuff to eat, cheeses, eggs, lite mayo, refried beans, sour cream...you know the basics! Feeling really great. Can't wait to lay on my belly again!!!

glad to hear it!! it sounds like you're on the right road. dr. roye is great, isn't he? i'm going for my 6 month check up next friday.. had my bloodwork done yesterday. i'm hoping my B1 levels are back up to normal. if they aren't, i don't know what's going to happen. i know b1 isn't one of the vitamins you can mess around with. it can lead to beri beri, and from what i've read- that isn't good! so don't forget to take your vitamins!! and eat your protein.. and drink your water. kristen* ps. going back to work, even for a couple days may not be the worst idea. sometimes it's really hard to just jump back into a full 8 hour day, 5 days a week! i say go back and enjoy only having to work a couple days. but thatsjust me!!

yyyyeeeaahh Jess- congrats on the weightloss!! I have lost 17 pound since surgery and 27 total. I have been at a holding pattern for 4 days now. I see dr.Ryder for my first postop appt next Thursday. I tried refried beans but my stomach rejected it, so my nutritonist told me not to eat them until next week or so. I finally found a protein drink I can have and it is acheivone. It is like starbucks coffee. Thanks for the update!! shannon

Hi girls...... I actually went back to work this week. Dr. Roye didn't want to release me, but I told him there was nothing wrong with me. I felt tired sometimes, but I only work 3 minutes away from my house, so I went home for an hour or so around lunchtime. I had no problems. My job is flexible so I don't have to work an 8 hour day at the office to get paid, so that's nice. I really haven't rejected anything yet, as far as food is concerned. I strictly watch my fat and sugar intake, but other than that, I eat good, healthy food. Tonight we had corned beef hash and eggs. No problems. I tried Kristens pastaless manicotti and now have a bowl at the ready always in the fridge. I have noticed that my tastes have changed or change in mid stream. My mom says she can't keep up with me cause one day I'll like it and the next day I look at her like she has 3 heads and ask her to get it away from me. Even Fruit20 is a struggle. I seem to like Diet Plum-A-Granite Snapple for now. We'll see next week.....LOL. All of my incisions are healed and I get around like nothing was the matter. Again, the only thing is fatigue. I'm still having trouble getting in more than 40 ounces of water so I push more popsicles. I'm trying. Shannon, I hear ya with the weight stall. I'm down to 302 but can't seem to break that 300 mark to save my life. I'm told it's because my fluid intake is so low....but I don't know. It's kinda depressing, if you ask me. But I'm glad to see everyone's doing so well. I feel like I felt before sugery.....I'm even hungry lots of the time. I really don't feel like I've been through gastric bypass.....sometimes I wonder. Keep in touch everyone.......thanks for the terrific recipes Kristen. Shannon and Jess....YOU GO GIRLS!!! Glad you both are OK. I think Elaine is doing ok too....last time I heard from her. HUGS TO ALL. Shel
